King Family Vineyards is regarded as one of the best wineries in the state of Virginia, let alone the Monticello Wine Trail.

Since purchasing the original 327 acre farm in 1996, the King family cultivated the property to be a place where people can relax and have fun. The distinctive wines made at the vineyard benefit greatly from the dyke-loam soil of the area, allowing the family to craft some of the best Virginia wines.

Every Sunday, King Family Vineyards hosts free polo matches, allowing everyone a chance to experience the sport. They also host summer polo lessons at the Roseland Polo School. On top of this, the vineyard hosts events year round, from live music to hosting local food trucks.

Only a short walk from our resort, Septenary Winery is as beautiful as it is historic. The estate has been owned by many prominent local figures and is currently registered as both a Virginia Historic Landmark and is included on the National Register of Historic Places.

Septenary Winery is an adults-only facility that accommodates smaller groups. Their picturesque property is perfect for picnicking which is why the winery also offers picnic packs which include a curated selection of snacks that pair perfectly with their wine.

Being a part of Seven Oaks Farm, Septenary Winery allows visitors the opportunity to see free range ducks and grass fed cattle living as part of sustainable farming operations near the eastern end of the property.
